Appears as orange needles. Ammonium Dichromate is used in the classic erupting volcano demonstration. When burned, a small conical heap of this orange powder will produce sparks, steam, and a gray-green ash of chromium (III) oxide and nitrogen gas. Only use in a well ventilated area wearing proper safety equipment such as goggles and gloves.
Caution: Avoid contact with dusts or solutions as they are toxic and irritating to eyes and skin. Strong oxidizer — may explode in contact with organic materials!
