Our reagent grade Chloroform (trichloromethane) contains a trace of ethanol as a stabilizer. It is a colorless liquid with an ether-like odor and a slightly sweet taste. Nonflammable.
Chloroform is a common solvent for alkaloids, fats, oils, waxes, and resins. Miscible with most organic liquids. It is used to make coolants, in degreasing operations, and to bond pieces of acrylic. Also used in the wildlife control industry for safe handling of skunks without them spraying.
