Sodium Nitrate can be used to make Nitric Acid when made into a solution and combined with Hydrochloric Acid. It is soluble in water and readily forms colorless hexagonal crystals. It is a strong oxidizer but stable under ordinary conditions of use and storage. Its many uses include the manufacture of pyrotechnics, pottery enamel and fertilizer.
