Technical grade — Appears as a white crystalline solid, hygroscopic and very deliquescent. Used in some metal patina formulas.
Zinc chloride is commonly used as a flux in soldering copper pipes and fittings together. It can also be used to solder other metals, such as brass and bronze. Also good for cleaning and removing oxides from metal surfaces before soldering.
